Guilty Gear – Order Sol – Stone Sword Build (ギルティギア)

I think the only thing that still gets about this thing is its name. It never really got one, its not even a sword, its just a cracked piece of rock (due to Sol’s flames?).

Anyways, this was a brand new build for me altogether since getting a rocky look isn’t easy with my shiny plastics, but open cell foam (EVA) did the trick perfectly well. Everything else was, as usual, on-the-spot thinking and last minute build. All in all, took a day if that. Built to hurt and last very very long, as with everything that emerges from my hands.

I also repaired Fuuraiken alongside this build since it suffered plenty of damage during Nekocon this year.

Rave – Elie – Tonfa Guns (レイヴ)

Quick and painless build for my Elie, for our few pics and as a belated birthday present. Took a lazy 2-3 hours to make and paint. Handles, as per my style, are removable if absolutely necessary and so are the lights.

Halloween

Don’t know about the rest of you, but this year I went to the town like a boss. And got into clubs and whatnot too. Best part? Free entries and open bars!

Rave – Haru – Eisenmeteor V1 (レイヴ)

Long story behind this, once again last minute big build. It started off as a Heavy Blade for Black Rose from .Hack series, but I abandoned/paused the build due to the meetup falling through at Katsucon 18.

After that I decided to revisit Rave since it was the predecessor of Fairy Tail, and per my usual tastes, decided to revive that show. Given 2 white wigs and already half-built sword, Haru was a no-brainer decision for me.

Sword is as modular as it can possibly be, as usual, and the hole in the bottom is due to it originally being a .Hack Heavy Blade. Blade isn’t perfectly shaped either due to my experiments with reinforcements and just a hint too much heat gun action. ;p

Pictures will speak about the rest.

Final words- I’ll add Musica’s signature notes sometime later, as well as make the Rave itself.

.Hack – Kite – Twin Blades (V1)

So, these went through quite a few changes over the fairly leisurely build. Kept trying new ideas as I went along and here we are. I will polish and detail them some time later, since the rush was to finish them presentably for Katsucon 18.

Gintama – Patriot (v1) (銀魂)

Decided to quickly whip this up for NYAF 2011 and it was a great idea. Whoever recognized this thing died laughing on the spot. Many, many others plucked lots of tissues out of it throughout the con as well. xD Also, I wasn’t the only one who made this marvel and to make things even more epic, my new buddy made the manga version while I made the TV version.

I do plan on making a v2 sometime, slightly differently from the current design and probably in time for my new gin outfit.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn – Rokudo Mukuro Trident (Incomplete) (家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN!) (六道 骸)

So this was a free commission I sadly didn’t have time to complete at the time, since I only had 2 weeks to do it and my speed wasn’t up to par back in those days. Selling point here are the gimmicks I incorporated into the design and then its overall light weight (unlike next 2 props I’ve made, the Fuuraiken, and Patriot from Gintama). Rocking it this time is a good friend of a friend for whom I made this guy.

To elaborate- every piece here is removable and very secure at the same time when assembled together. Easy to transport, fix, upgrade, etc. (Also, I don’t quite recall where I found this particular pic from NYAF 2011, but full credit to respective photographer per the watermark on the bottom).

Darker Than Black – Hei – Dagger and Mask (黒の契約者)

My first real project, started out as a dimension test using foam board and was finalized in 2mm ABS sheets. Mask was made out of baking putty (Fimo in particular).

Guilty Gear – Ky Kiske – Fuuraiken Build (ギルティギア 風来剣)

Been putting this build off for way too long, and birthday + NYAF 2011 were the perfect motivators this time around. Build was quick, simple, not really planned ahead due to the time crunch I had to deal with- 3 days. The whole thing was planned as it was built and the final is fully modular to allow repairs or upgrades in the future. Made of PVC, ABS, and stainless steel, polycarbonate paint. Future thoughts- thin down the white blocks on the middle area, make a foam blade to actually make this spar-friendly as well as photo friendly.
