Free, insane after party happened in Webster Hall on Saturday night. Huge, old venue. DJs were awesome. Drinks were not overpriced and well-made.

New York Comic Con 2012 (NYCC)
Irony had it that since my new cosplay addition was Haru from Rave, this con really ended up a groove adventure. Pictures alone won’t really do the story justice, so I will get to it right after the photographic glory.
Lots of new faces, lots of familiar ones, and one crazy 4-day con. Starting from Thursday:
Met up with new faces I was rooming with for Fri-Sat with since they got to the con as early as I did, but neither of us had any accommodations for the first day. Sleeping in the car is nice and all, but not in that weather and not with 3 people and a giant sword. Luckily, we bumped into one of my friends who was mostly doing Domon Kasshu from G Gundam for this con. Great luck with which I went ahead to move my junk from the car to the hotel. On my way, I somehow lost my 4-day pass for the con due to carrying too much stuff. Feeling completely blown, ended up going to the con area to try my luck since one of the new friends also needed a pass. By amazing chance of luck, we bumped into some guy who was leaving that day and not coming back at all, so he gave me his 4-day for free. Amazing turn of the events thus far. We all went back to the hotel and celebrated collectively.
Friday:
Debuted Haru all day long, with the only real highlight being piggyback jousting using my sword and a maid whose skirt was going all around the world in the wind. Bystanders found that whole notion quite amusing. Later on I took Domon to Village Yokocho and Decibel where he tried sake for the first time. Per return to the hotel, we got nicely smacked and Lake Toya had his way with Domon. lol
Saturday:
Waltzed around as Gintoki and looked quite in-character given my hangover from the night before. Highlight of this night was the free, huge after party in Webster Hall that we went to after all was said and done.
Sunday:
Did not start off so nicely since my car got towed and the ticket, towing fee, and an extra night at the hotel set me back a good half of a big buck.
All in all, was quite the adventure this year and I made it back in one piece. Pheeeeew.

Farewell Party
So my last few days here, decided to do another collaboration party with Rocketnews. Some new faces showed up and we had a great time once again.
And then it was my turn to try making takoyaki. In the end, nailed it-
And after we did a usual round at Goldenbowl followed by Trump Room in Shibuya.
Next thing blew my mind because it’s an idea I wanted to try myself- mix of DJing and live music and vocals and kids from Exoskeletone nailed it!

As much as I don’t want to leave, family matters call, but I’m definitely moving to the land of rising sun in the near future. Screw capitalist America with it’s current political and economical state, and thats aside from the majority of people living there.

Cozy lil club, but we either went too late on a Thursday or party wasnt that big. Usually much better on weekends.

Club Axxcis – Shibuya
Nice lil place, and pretty decent for a Sunday night. Mostly stayed on the top floor for progressive house. Did some stringing, let some peeps try as well.
Best part- comfy couches!

Siiiick club with amazing house music pretty much all night long!
Gin-san Fan Party With A Surprise Guest
So rocketnews decided to set up a meet and greet kinda party for me, but the problem was they made it super last minute. Normally, no good, but with power of twitter and a bit of luck I managed to get Yunmao Ayakawa to come join us in our small festivities. Then a friend of mine managed to come all the way from Chiba! All in all, was a very successful outing.

Funny enough, the June 7-11 Gintama campaign started the following morning and I ended up going to the one by my place in full gear. Got a ticket for a keychain tier and had my friend dig up me for me. Haha

Finally crawled out to this area. Very shinjuku-esque, but so many great used anime and cosplay shops!
Then some karaoke and food at local Pasela resort.
Cosplay Showcase App Launch Party (Shibuya)
So Dai-chan and Satou-san from Rocketnews24 took me to Cosplay Showcase app launch party. This was my first night wearing new Gin-san cos i upgraded to here, and to boot, a lot of cosers there actually knew about me! Food and drinks were free, people were great and a few even sported good English!

redlight district like no other. defenitely need to know places to go, else they’ll straight up rob you blind. else very lively albeit tad pricey.
