Yamato 1/72 – VF-19A Excalibur

God knows why all of the Macross Plus stuff got this odd scale line back in the day, but its pretty much all we had to go by and Yamato was quite a bit better than Bandai’s old lineup.

So, still made of die-cast and ABS like the 1/48s. Still has quite a bit of details save little ones like wing flaps and treads on the landing gear wheels.

As far as the fighter itself, 19A is the post-prototype model that was debuted in the new light blue colors in the PS1 game Macross Digital Mission VF-X 2.

This is still my favorite mecha/macross valkyrie by a long mile and I still wish to see an inexpensive, transformable, and more durable version of this guy. The new 1/60 one is cool, but chokingly expensive.
